The Kozmetika Afrodita companyThe heart of Rogaška Slatina, a town with an impressive 400-year tradition of spa tourism, is the place that Kozmetika Afrodita calls home. The company, whose well-known cosmetics brand is recognized both in Slovenia and abroad, employs around 120 people from various backgrounds and boasts numerous lines of cosmetics for professional (salon exclusive) and home care. 1970–1990In 1970, Danica Zorin (Mijošek), who owns and manages the company today, began her successful career as an entrepreneur. She displayed an interest in cosmetics early on as a child, encouraged by her grandmother. With her objectives clearly defined, Danica Zorin opened the first cosmetics salon in the Rogaška Slatina spa and provided an exceptional health resort service. The poor selection of cosmetic products on the market at the time gave rise to the idea of developing the company’s own line of cosmetics. The first products were made for the company’s own use at first, but the number of users gradually began to grow. This encouraged the start of cosmetics production and later, the founding of a company whose mission it was to successfully compete with other producers of cosmetics in Slovenia and abroad. Over time, the modest production of cosmetic products increased. At the end of the eighties, market liberalisation brought Afrodita cosmetics to store shelves as well. After 1990The early nineties were an era of numerous changes in Slovenia, which was reflected in its economy. Almost overnight, the loss of markets in the former Yugoslav federation lead Kozmetika Afrodita into an unfavourable position. Nevertheless, a change of tactics that refocused the company’s activities to foreign markets helped the company retain all of its employees and continue its planned business path successfully. Very soon, the Hungarian market opened up, followed by Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, Kozmetika Afrodita can already be found throughout the entire territory of former Yugoslavia, and on 11 world markets, including Iran and Russia. Kozmetika Afrodita’s chamomile cream gave birth to an extensive range of facial, body and hair care products that continues to expand year after year. The company"s professional approach and attention to customer needs has lead to new ideas, patents and products that contribute to the already extensive selection. All Kozmetika Afrodita products are based on the highest-quality natural ingredients, a fact that is of particular importance nowadays, and undergo dermatological, chemical and microbiological testing. The company has never conducted testing on animals. Testing also takes place at the Derma Consult Institute in Bonn, after which the products are also tested in practice in our cosmetic salons in Rogaška Slatina and Zagreb. The company currently occupies a 6,000 m2 facility, a third of which represents offices and two-thirds of which is used for production.
